A Year in Socks

I've just joined "A Year In Socks" and am looking forward to learning to make socks. I hear how addicting they are, but have always been intimidated by DPNs. I've overcome my fear in the last little while by finishing hats on DPNs...so I think I'm almost ready to cast on my first pair of socks. I just need to decide on a pattern and go for it. I have some sock yarn in mind - alpaca hand dyed two ply yarn that we colored in November. The colorway is called "Pasture Berries" and I think it will work up into something gorgeous. I also have a skein of spring colors and a beautiful green. OH! And Bethy made a colorway that looks like a thunderstorm - I think that's what it's called, so I could make some thundercloud socks. Choices, choices...it's so hard to choose...

But thanks to Rani for inviting me to join the sock blog, and also for giving me a You Make My Day award! I'm so glad I can make someone's day!

I've seen the stuff you've knit and crocheted, and I know that socks will not be a problem for you! Have fun!

You'll love socks. O will love the socks, too, since he can't find socks that fit. One pair a month will be more than enough I think, though. We did six pairs in a month and I thought I would go crazy! You'll need a good pair of Birkenstocks to show them off!!!

I hope you do the thuderstorm color. I would like to see how it turns out. I hated it to begin with but I think it might look alright as socks.
Hmmm...
Whatever choice you make, send me a picture.
