The next crochet project

This is my next crochet project. My copy of Interweave Crochet FINALLY arrived and I fell in love with this shawl as soon as I saw it. Mine, of course will turn out differently, since I cannot leave a pattern alone and make it as it is written, at least after the first time I use the pattern.

A pattern is really more for inspiration and guidance than for following to the letter, in my own mind.

I think I will make the first one as the pattern is written, just to understand how things are supposed to go, and then I'll make a cape of this kind of thing. I saw a great one this afternoon in a movie. It was a filet crochet cape, just a rectangle of filet and a draw string to gather it around the shoulders. Mine will have flowers like this shawl has.

What do you think? Could it be fun? It COULD be fun!!!

Looks beautiful and very complicated as far as I can see, but then I'm no crocheter!

Your husky dog is so lovely.

It looks at lot like the ones you brought home in October. It shouldn't be a big stretch for you, and yes, I think it will be loads of fun.

Did I tell you that I've been working on learning to crochet better? I'm not very good at the moment, but I can do pretty good flowers and motifs. Bethy and I are going to start some of those amigurumi toys and see if we can do that.

Heh, remember that little crocheted turtle that I made one year for Abby's Christmas presnt? I think she must have only been 1 or 2 years old. He turned out great, I thought. Maybe he was something like one of those amigurumi toys?
